Where to Submit Audit Reports

Audit reports must be filed with the State Controller’s Office (SCO), the California Department of Education (CDE), the local County Superintendent of Schools, and, if applicable, the chartering entity, by December 15. Independent auditors must submit to the SCO one copy of the report by U.S. Postal Service, private carrier, or via File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Reports submit via FTP must be uploaded as an unsecured PDF. If you plan to use the FTP option and do not have the instructions, please contact the SCO to request the FTP instructions at leaaudits@sco.ca.gov or leave a voicemail message at (916) 324-6442.
