State Controller to Collect 2010 Wage Numbers
On Aug. 31, State Controller John Chiang ordered cities, counties and other local governments to report their 2010 wage information to his office. This follows a similar action last year, when the Controller created a statewide Government Compensation in California database on his website.
The database currently contains 2009 data for local governments and 2010 compensation information for State civil service and California State University employees.
The 2010 local agency data will be posted starting this fall. State employees' 2011 information will be posted by summer 2012.
Controller Chiang continues to improve and expand the database, which lets California taxpayers see how much their local and state governments spend on employee pay. For more information, see the database.
