Controller Appoints Anne-Marie Duliege to Stem Cell Oversight Board

SACRAMENTO – State Controller John Chiang today announced his appointment of Dr. Anne-Marie Duliege to the Independent Citizen's Oversight Committee (ICOC), the governing board of the State's stem cell program, the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
The Controller is responsible for appointing one of the life science representatives of the ICOC. A life science representative must be the executive officer of a California life science business, and have a background in implementing successful experimental medical therapies.
Dr. Duliege is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Affymax Inc., and has more than 20 years of scientific and leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She brings first-hand knowledge of what is required to take a drug from its research phase through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval process. Prior to joining Affymax, Dr. Duliege was a Senior Medical Director at Chiron Corporation with a significant record of accomplishments in the execution of multiple phases of clinical studies.
Dr. Duliege received her M.D. degree and her certification in pediatrics from Paris Medical School, an M.S. in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health and an M.S. in Biostatistics from the Paris Medical School. She currently practices medicine as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University's School of Medicine and Lucile Packard's Children's Hospital.
