Controller Chiang Issues Statement on Governor’s State of the State Address

SACRAMENTO -- State Controller John Chiang today issued the following statement regarding the Governor's State of the State address:

"If balanced budgets and economic growth are to be the new norm, we must embrace the Governor's call for fiscal discipline, strategic investing in education and infrastructure, and de-leveraging from the stranglehold of debt accrued during the past decade. If we take this course, long-term fiscal stability and the opportunity to govern outside of crisis will be in reach."
