Training Needs Assessment and Enrollment Process
Personnel and Payroll training provides Personnel Specialists with the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities to accurately process personnel and payroll transactions and generate accurate and timely payroll using the State Controller's Uniform State Payroll System (USPS).
The Personnel/Payroll Services Statewide Training Team is dedicated to the development and delivery of training that improves learner engagement and course effectiveness. To enhance our customer service, we evaluate training needs on a statewide basis. Your participation and feedback in our surveys help us determine which statewide training needs are most critical, so we can plan accordingly.
Training Enrollment Needs Assessment Process
Three times a year, Department Training Coordinators will receive a link to a Training Enrollment Needs Assessment to determine each department's training enrollment estimates. The Training Enrollment Needs Assessment is announced via email to all Department Training Coordinators.

Please submit only one response per department.
Training Enrollment and Registration
Beginning Monday, April 2, 2018, Department Training Coordinators will be able to register their students online at our Training Registration page.
Training Enrollment is processed on a first come, first served basis. Please verify that student email addresses provided during the enrollment process are up to date to ensure the accurate distribution of confirmation emails.
Be sure to verify that the student enrolls in a prerequisite class date that occurs prior to the advanced class date. Prerequisites ensure that each Personnel Specialist succeeds in comprehending the subject matter offered in the class. Personnel Specialists who lack the required experience may have difficulty with the material and detract from the class. Therefore, if a Personnel Specialist is unable to maintain the pace of the session, the instructor may request that he/she returns to his/her department.
Confirmation of Registration
Upon completion of enrollment, the student will receive an automated confirmation of their registration. Two weeks prior to the class date, the student will receive an email confirming the student's registration and class location. This letter contains important registration information about the dates, duration, times, and location of the class.
Substitutions, Cancellations, and No Show Policy
Cancellations received more than three (3) working days in advance of the first day of class are accepted without charge. Departments are charged $100.00 for each late cancellation or no show.

Statewide Training Travel
Departments are charged $40.00 per student for all Statewide Training classes held outside of Sacramento.
