Bargaining Provision Implementation Update

Description: Bargaining Provision Implementation Update: HR Reminders and Tasks
The State Controller's Office (SCO) is nearing the end of its mass salary implementation period for the latest round of contract provisions, effective July 1, 2023.
All General Salary Increases (GSI), that could be processed en masse, have been completed as of today. There are two Special Salary Adjustment (SSA) updates scheduled for the week of December 18, one for applicable Bargaining Unit 7 employees, and the other for applicable SEIU employees. Those represent the final two mass updates that SCO will process for the latest round of contract provisions.
As with all mass update processing, there is manual cleanup to be done and that work falls to our Personnel and Payroll Operations Bureau as well as impacted departments.
Please be sure to review all CalHR Pay Letters available on CalHR Net, and SCO Personnel Letters that are specific to employee populations impacted within your department. These letters provide instructions for processing and are key resources for HR specialists completing the tasks that fall to departments.
Additional tasks departments need to complete include validating payroll, completing special processing as indicated in each SCO Personnel Letter, reviewing and taking necessary action on Pay Differentials, and processing overtime adjustments, if needed.
