Urgent: Important Information Regarding Direct Deposit Phishing Emails 

Action Required by Department: Share the following information with all departmental human resources (HR) and State Employees.

Description: The California State Controller's Office (SCO) has been made aware of phishing emails attempting to convince state entities to verify their employees direct deposit information. These emails are fake.  The SCO will never ask for sensitive direct deposit information via email. If you get any of these phishing emails immediately report them to your entities' Information Security Office.
