SUPPLEMENTAL EMPLOYMENT HISTORY MASS UPDATE TO CHANGE RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTION RATES FOR  BARGAINING UNITS 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21; EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2023

Action Required:  Share the following information with all human resources (HR) office employees.

Description:  Effective July 1, 2023, Miscellaneous, Industrial, Safety, Patrol and Peace Officer/Firefighter, retirement members in Bargaining Units 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 14, 15, 17, 20, and 21 received a change to their employee retirement contribution rate.
The SCO processed an EH mass update on July 6, 2023, to implement the retirement rate changes effective July 1, 2023, for eligible employees.  The 505 transaction reflects the employee retirement contribution rate and retirement account code changes for impacted employees.
Due to technical issues, some employee records were not captured in that update.  The SCO is aware that Payroll Cut-off is fast approaching, and is making every effort to identify and update all impacted records.  The SCO will conduct a second mass update on July 19, 2023 to post 505 transactions to them.
The impacted records include CalPERS Classic Safety members from Bargaining Units 4, 11, 15, 17, and 20, as well as various records from other Bargaining Units.
This update will not include Exempt employees.  Departments are responsible to key 505 transactions for Exempt employees.
The SCO will release an amended Personnel Letter with further details on July 20, 2023.

Population Affected: All HR Offices.
