Temporary CLAS Access Issues for Employees in January 2026 Class Consolidation

Action Required: Share the following information with all human resources (HR) office employees.

Description: Departments may experience position number discrepancies or be unable to access leave accounting records in the California Leave Accounting System (CLAS) for employees who were part of the January 2026 Class Consolidation mass update and had an appointment, separation, or time base change in January or February 2026.

The State Controller’s Office (SCO) is actively correcting the underlying position history issue. During this process, some employee records may be placed out of service for up to 24 hours. Once updated, the records will automatically return to active status.

A broadcast email will be sent once all corrections are complete.
